Vidraru, high under the Făgăraș ridge, is cold predator water, while the lakes nearer Pitești hold carp, crucian carp and zander, with good access off the Transfăgărășan road. South of the city, towards Costești and Topoloveni, the land opens out and managed fisheries take over, most of them under an hour away. The Râul Doamnei, Vâlsan and Râul Târgului stay trout water. Spring and autumn are the most consistent on the Argeș reservoirs. In summer the dammed water is slow to warm and the fishing moves to the night shift. Mountain streams need a permit and a close read of the season rules. ## **Fishing in Romania by style and species** - [**Carp**51 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/carp/romania) - [**Common Carp**51 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/common-carp/romania) - [**Mirror Carp**51 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/mirror-carp/romania) - [**Grass Carp**50 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/grass-carp/romania) - [**Leather Carp**50 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/leather-carp/romania) - [**Prussian Carp**44 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/prussian-carp/romania) - [**Coarse**39 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/coarse/romania) - [**Predator**38 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/predator/romania) - [**Catfish**33 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/catfish/romania) - [**Rudd**32 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/rudd/romania) - [**Silver Carp**31 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/silver-carp/romania) - [**Bighead Carp**30 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/bighead-carp/romania) - [**Bream**29 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/bream/romania) - [**Roach**26 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/roach/romania) - [**Zander**26 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/zander/romania) - [**Crucian Carp**23 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/crucian-carp/romania) - [**Pike**23 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/pike/romania) - [**Bleak**19 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/bleak/romania) - [**Perch**18 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/perch/romania) - [**Asp**11 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/asp/romania) - [**Sturgeon**10 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/sturgeon/romania) - [**Brown Bullhead**9 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/brown-bullhead/romania) - [**Black Carp**5 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/black-carp/romania) - [**Burbot**5 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/burbot/romania) - [**Ide**5 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/ide/romania) - [**Tench**5 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/tench/romania) - [**Brown Trout**4 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/brown-trout/romania) - [**Grayling**3 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/fishing/grayling/romania) ## **More counties in Romania** - [**Călărași**12 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/calarasi) - [**Bihor**7 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/bihor) - [**Ilfov**6 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/ilfov) - [**Giurgiu**3 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/giurgiu) - [**Alba**2 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/alba) - [**Cluj**2 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/cluj) - [**Ialomița**2 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/ialomita) - [**Iași**2 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/iasi) - [**Prahova**2 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/prahova) - [**Sibiu**2 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/sibiu) - [**Timiș**2 lakes](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/timis) - [**Constanța**1 lake](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/constanta) - [**Covasna**1 lake](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/covasna) - [**Dâmbovița**1 lake](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/dambovita) - [**Galați**1 lake](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/galati) - [**Hunedoara**1 lake](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/hunedoara) - [**Mureș**1 lake](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/mures) - [**Satu Mare**1 lake](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/satu-mare) - [**Tulcea**1 lake](https://lakebooking.com/destinations/romania/tulcea) ## Sitemap See the full [sitemap](/sitemap.md) for all pages.
