# **Sacoșu Turcesc**
Sacoșu Turcesc lake is the fish farm of the Pescotim company, at the edge of the village of Sacoșu Turcesc in Timiș county, near the Timișoara-Buziaș county road (DJ592), about 20 km from Timișoara, about 25 minutes by car. Here, the swims of two neighboring lakes, separated by a dam, are booked online: Lake 1, of about 37 hectares, and the Carpodrome (Lake 2), of about 30 hectares. The Carpodrome has banks about 340 m from each other, depths between 1.2 and 1.8 m and a hard bottom. The Carpodrome was dredged, its banks were consolidated and it was opened to fishing in 2014; since then it has been part of the competition circuit. It is stocked mainly with common carp and mirror carp, along with large grass carp, and its record is a common carp of 30.575 kg; in August 2025, at the second qualifying round for the European Carp Angling Championships, 17.7 tons of fish were weighed here. In Lake 1 live carp, grass carp, crucian carp, catfish, pike, zander and silver carp. Lake 1 has 30 swims with a pontoon: A1 to A20 on the south-west dam and A21 to A30 on the north-east bank, near the entrance. The Carpodrome has 28 swims with a pontoon and electricity: B1 to B14 on the south-east bank, B17 to B28 on the north-west bank, B29 and B30 on the short south-west bank (swims 15 and 16 are not booked), with about 40 m of camping space between swims. The roads on the dams lead to each swim, and the car can remain on the swim where the bank allows. The farm is open from Tuesday to Sunday, is video monitored, and the control team checks the swims. Also here are two more lakes, BST3 for predator fishing and BST4 for recreational fishing, which are not booked here: one enters them with a day ticket.
