Balta Corata 1

Balta Corata 1 is a sport fishing complex from the village of Sătucu, Sărulești commune, Călărași county, at 45 km from Bucharest on the road to Constanța, with the exit from A2 at Fundulea and the last two kilometres on a gravel road. The lake was formed on the valley of the Corâta river and stretches over about 37 hectares, from the gulf in front of the complex to the wild arm at the eastern end. In front of the pontoons the water spans between 75 and 280 metres. Fishing is exclusively sport, in a catch‑and‑release regime: every caught fish is returned to the water, regardless of species or size. The lake is populated with carp, crucian carp, roach, bitterling and rudd, and the water also holds catfish, zander, pike and sturgeon. Carp exceed 10 kg, and predator fishing and live bait are not allowed. On the north‑west shore there are eleven pontoons and five gazebos, all facing south‑east, with a gravel road and parking right behind, sockets and lighting at the fishing spots. The complex has a restaurant with a terrace over the water, accommodation units with their own pontoon or gazebo, sauna and hot tub, billiards, hydro‑bikes, canoes and SUP boards, security and video surveillance. At about two kilometres on the water, in the wild area, lies the Fishermen’s Cabin, which is reachable only by boat.
