Hermes Periș
Hermes Periș is a carp lake of about 15 hectares, at the edge of the locality Periș in Ilfov county, 30 km north of Bucharest, with easy access from the main road of the locality. The lake was opened to fishing in 2014, after two years of dredging works, bank consolidation and stand development, and has been part of the competition circuit since then. The water has depths between 1.4 and 3 m, and the bottom is hard, with underwater structures in places, where the biggest catches have been reported. The population is dominated by Romanian carp and mirror carp, with specimens between 2 and over 32 kg; the lake record is a Romanian carp of 32.125 kg, caught in 2024. The lake also has tench over 25 kg, crucian carp and catfish, and the populations are frequent. Fishing is only catch and release, day and night. The 24 stands are on a single bank, facing west, about 150 m from the opposite bank, with wide space between them and in front, so anglers do not inconvenience each other. The car stays next to the stand for the whole duration of the session, and visitors park at the entrance. The lake hosts carp competitions in many weeks of the year, periods when it is not available for recreational fishing.
