Balta Nemți 1

Balta Nemți 1 is the first lake of the Nemți Fish Complex, at the north-eastern edge of the city of Urziceni, in Ialomița county, about 50 km from Bucharest on the DN2. Opened for sport fishing in 2019, it has 25 ha and a length of about 2.5 km, with a width of 80 to 120 m and a wider bay at the west end. The depths are between 2 and 5 m, and the bottom is quite hard, without snags and without underwater plants. In the lake live carp, especially from 1.5 to 4 kg, but also specimens of 10 to 15 kg, grass carp (cteno) of up to 10-15 kg, crucian carp from 150 g to almost 1 kg, European catfish of up to 20 kg and silver carp. The complex's lakes are stocked with carp several times a month in the season: over 19 tons in 2026. Fishing is done from the south-east bank, very low, with the gravel road 5 to 15 m from the water, behind the swims; the opposite bank has a reed curtain. The swims, 75 in number and about 20 m wide, are numbered from west to east: 1 to 70 on the road bank, in three sectors (A, B and C, separated by portions of bank without swims), and 71 to 75 on the north bank of the west bay. On the swim you can camp with a tent. Along the bank there are toilets, and the complex's fish restaurant, with fish soups and fish brine and grill, is on the bank, in front of swims 23 to 25. The lake is open non-stop and has a guard. The complex also has another lake, Balta Nemți 2.
