Dominic's Lake
Dominic's Lake is a former quarry in the village of Dobolț, Halmeu commune, in the north of Satu Mare county, about 40 minutes by car from the city of Satu Mare. It has almost 5 hectares of water, with three islands lined up in the middle and a tongue of land in the north‑east bay, depths between 2 and 7 metres and a gravel bottom, with thresholds specific to the quarry. In the lake live carp, amur, crucian carp, fitofag, bleak, pike, zander, perch, rudd and black bass. The lake records are a carp of 24,42 kg, an amur of 22,06 kg and a pike of 107 cm, and the carp averages 5 to 6 kg. The non‑feeding fish are not fed by the administration, and in the cold season the lake hosts pike fishing contests. On the shore there are 22 stands, each with its own lane: 12 fishing stands, S1 to S12, and 10 stands with a cabin at the back, C1 to C10. Next to the administration there is a 120 m² terrace with cold drinks, food, internet and television, and on the shore there are hot‑water showers, five toilets, night lighting, video surveillance and security, including in the parking.
