Iazul Bila 2

Iazul Bila 2 is a fishery near the village of Naipu, in Giurgiu county, about 50 km from Bucharest, right at the dam on which DJ 603 passes and which separates it from Balta Cămineasca. It was created for intensive fish farming: it has an almost constant depth of about 1.8 m, a uniform bottom, with patches of sand and silt, without submerged structures or snags, and a belt of reeds outlines its banks. The pond is densely populated with common carp, mirror carp and grass carp: the carp average 6 kg, and the largest reach 22 kg. The crucian carp averages 450 g, with specimens over 1.5 kg. Because it has a lot of fish, sport fishing competitions are often held here, with a specific place for awards. The 27 pontoons are on the same bank, 30 to 40 m from each other, and the opposite bank is 80 to 175 m away. The access road is entirely gravelled, and the car remains parked at the edge of the swim. The first ten pontoons have a furnished cabin behind them, and the first two are kept for the administration's guests. Each swim has a cradle, a release mat, a sling, disinfectant spray and retention sacks. On the bank there are toilets, a shower and trash cans, and upon request the administration provides a standing grill. Pensiunea Bila in Naipu, belonging to the pond's administration, delivers food to the swim.
