Lacul Ecotam

Ecotam Lake is a family fishing complex in the village of Tărtăria, Săliștea commune, 20 km from Alba Iulia and five minutes from the Sebeș road junction on the E68. It has two carp fishing lakes, both catch and release: Lake 1, sector A, with six pegs numbered from A1 to A6, and Lake 2, sector B, with five, from B1 to B5. The water sits between the wooded hills above the Mureș valley, and from the banks you can see the mountains. Both lakes are stocked with carp and grass carp. On Lake 1 the average catch is 9 kg, and the largest specimens reach 25 to 30 kg; on Lake 2 the density is higher, with an average of 9.5 kg and specimens between 18 and 20 kg. You fish with at most three rods per peg, and the fish is not kept. On each peg you find upon arrival a landing mat, weighing mat and bucket with pellets for baiting. Three of the Lake 1 pegs have behind them a rustic cottage, with 60 cm clay walls, two beds, fridge, wood stove, private bathroom and covered terrace where you can cook. At Lake 2 there is a cabin with five bedrooms, living room with kitchen and two bathrooms, rented separately, together with the whole lake, for groups. You can reach each peg by car, and the complex is open non-stop.
