Lacurile Sibiu

Lacurile Sibiu are two fishing ponds at the edge of Sibiu, before the entrance to the Cristian commune, near the airport, with the Făgăraș Mountains, Cindrel Mountains and Păltiniș on the horizon. The forest under the airport and the Cibin and Mănăștur rivers surround them, and between the two lakes stretches a dam planted with willows. The Big Lake has around 3.5 hectares and 3 meters depth, and the Small Lake, formed in 2007, has depths between 1.5 and 3 meters. The Big Lake, formed in 2014, received three stockings of carp and grass carp, with specimens between 7 and 24.7 kg, and stockings with big carp continue. The Small Lake was stocked from the beginning with carp, silver carp and bighead carp, grass carp also lives in the water, and in the first years it was protected from fishing, so the fish grew in peace. On the east bank of the Big Lake there are 7 swims, A1 to A7, each with a 6 by 3 meter wooden pontoon and a swim cabin. On the west bank of the Small Lake there are 20 swims, B1 to B20, each with a 1.5 by 2 meter pontoon and a wooden cabin at the water's edge. The complex has non-stop security, private parking, toilets and lighting.
