About fishing in Constanța
Constanța is the only county where the sea, a lake and the Danube fit into one trip: Siutghiol and Tașaul beside Mamaia, and the Danube lakes at Oltina, Dunăreni and Bugeac.
The lakes towards Ostrov and Cernavodă are known for carp and catfish and carry long, reedy banks. Siutghiol and Tașaul, right beside Mamaia and Năvodari, hold crucian carp, carp, zander and perch with very easy access. On the sea, from the moles and from boats, you take goby, horse mackerel, mullet and, in season, turbot.
Summer is busy on the coast, but autumn is the better bet: fewer people, clearer water, active fish. Public water needs a permit, and sea fishing carries its own species and season rules.
