About fishing in Prahova
Prahova is a transition county, plain to mountain, and it fishes the whole way: the carp lakes around Ploiești, the Paltinu reservoir, and the trout streams above Sinaia.
In the south, out towards Mizil and Urlați, the fisheries have the most built swims and the easiest parking. In the middle, Paltinu on the Doftana is the reference stillwater, deep and clear. The Prahova and the Teleajen give chub and nase on their running stretches, and towards Bușteni, Azuga and Cheia the streams turn to trout water, with a short season and strict rules.
The lowland fisheries run April to October, and in summer the night session is the productive one. This is the road to the mountains, so weekends are busy and booking a swim ahead helps.
