About fishing in Dâmbovița
Dâmbovița is a narrow strip from mountain to plain, and its fishing runs the whole way: the Ialomița dams in the Bucegi, the Pucioasa reservoir, and the carp fisheries near Titu.
You can drive end to end in an hour. High in the Bucegi, the Ialomița is held back at Bolboci and Scropoasa, and its tributaries run trout. In the middle, Pucioasa is the most accessible larger stillwater, good for crucian carp and predators. In the south, towards Găești and Răcari, the ground opens out and the managed fisheries begin, many of them under an hour from Bucharest.
The southern lakes fish from April to October, peaking in May and September. Mountain water has a short season and reacts hard to rain, so give it a few days after a spate.
